Performance-Based Admissions

This inclusive program welcomes learners from all walks of life. The performance-based admissions process serves capable learners ready to start their next educational journey without tests, application fees, or other hurdles. No matter your background or prior education, complete three short courses (Introduction to Contemporary Operating Systems and Hardware 1a, Introduction to Contemporary Operating Systems and Hardware 1b, Introduction to Contemporary Operating Systems and Hardware 1c) with at least a B in each course, and you’ll be accepted to the program.

This program is recommended for students who have taken college-level courses at previous institutions and are looking to further their career and education in information technology. If you have an associate’s degree or up to 61 hours of studies, you can equip yourself for a new career in information technology and the burgeoning area of cloud computing with this program. You will be requested to submit your transcript when registering for your pathway courses.

Upon successful completion of the pathway courses (Introduction to Contemporary Operating Systems and Hardware 1a, Introduction to Contemporary Operating Systems and Hardware 1b, Introduction to Contemporary Operating Systems and Hardware 1c), your official transcript will be evaluated to determine your remaining program requirements. Please note that official transcripts from all previous institutions attended must be submitted in order to receive transfer credit at Illinois Tech.

Yes. You can sample the learning experience and test your skills by enrolling in a non-credit course. You can upgrade later to the for-credit experience and pay tuition to apply the credit toward the full degree. Learners can enroll in stackable open content in fall 2023.
