About the Course

"Microservices" describes a software design pattern in which an application is a collection of loosely coupled services. These services are fine-grained, and can be individually maintained and scaled. The microservices architecture is ideal for the public cloud, with its focus on elastic scaling with on-demand resources. In this course, you will learn how to build Java applications using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud on Google Cloud. You'll use Spring Cloud Config to manage your application's configuration. You'll send and receive messages with Pub/Sub and Spring Integration. You'll also use Cloud SQL as a managed relational database for your Java applications, and learn how to migrate to Spanner, which is Google Cloud's globally-distributed strongly consistent database service. You'll also learn about tracing and debugging your Spring applications with Google Cloud Observability. To succeed in this course, you should be familiar with the Java programming language and building Java applications with tools such as Maven or Gradle. You should also have general knowledge of Google Cloud. >>> By enrolling in this course you agree to the Qwiklabs Terms of Service as set out in the FAQ and located at: https://qwiklabs.com/terms_of_service <<<...

I don't like the course, i did not learn anything about springboot, poor videos, labs without no context and no califications. You just have to copy and paste all time with no context of what are you doing. This seems to be something more like a promotion of GCP product than something that i can learn in deep.

IMPORTANT: You are not going to learn anything about Java, Microservices or Spring Boot (you will need to inspect the whole repo to learn by yourself), people will need to be autonomous and make further research to learn about this project, the course itself is not going to work.

As others have suggested, this course is quite superficial, mostly a showcase of spring / gcp integrations but no depth. The labs have quite a few isseus: deprecated commands, misleading information, and steps that just don't work anymore.

Most of the labs included in this course don't give the expected outputs. There is no support provided if any command doesn't give the expected output. The learning path is mostly copy pasting and doesn't help much in upskilling.

Although I have finished this course, I still don't quite understand what is the goal of the course. The instructor doesn't introduce the principle and the mechanism of these technology tools mentioned.

It's free in vain, you can't access the quick lab from cloud platform to start configuring. A lot of people are complain about the same problem. The button "Open Tool" it's not active.

It was not possible to start the external tool.

The course looked more like a google cloud intro than a microservices and spring boot course anyway.
